Gurudwara Majnu Ka tilla, New Delhi



Guruwara Majnu ka Tilla, Delhi

Location : National Highway 1 near Timarpur on Bank of Yamuna River (North Delhi)

Nearest Metro Station : Vishan Sabha (Yellow Line)



History : This placed is named after a Muslim hermit Majnu who lived here during time of Sikander Lodhi. He owned a boat and used it for taking people across the river free of charge. He yearned for glimpse of God. He was so much lost in his thoughts that the people started calling him "Majnu",The persian lover who lived and died in Love similar to the story of the World renowned love story of Romeo and Juliet. This placed was visited by founder of Sikhism Guru Nanak dev ji. He blessed Majnu and Majnu attained enlightenment. Afterwards Majnu became a devout and avid believer and follower of  Guru Nanak Dev Ji.His hermitage on the bank of the Yamuna on a hillock, came to be known as Majnu-ka-Tilla (the hilllock of Majnu).This place was also visited by Sixth Guru Hargobind ji during reign of Emperor Jahangir. 





Management : This Gurudwara is managed by Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Comittee (DSGMC). Birth anniversary of Khalsa Baisakhi is celebrated here every year.

Wow! A plate of yummy chhole bhature with a glass of lassi ... bliss for my taste buds. A small yet popular restaurant located in Punjabi Market, Mukherjee Park Near Tilak Nagar. Chhole bhature is popular and highest selling food item, Other items like Aloo wala Bread Pakoda, Paneer Wala bread pakoda and samose are also very popular but mostly people come to this shop for Chhole Bhature. Most of time place is crowded with people waiting for Choley Bhatury everyday. Sitting arrangement is not so sufficient so take away is better option and most people do so. Food is tasty and proportions are huge. Owner of the shop is very nice person and converse to people in very polite and friendly manner and if you have any kind of complaint then he listen attentively and takes necessary steps to correct it. Sagar has maintained the taste over the years. So if you are nearby then you must try chhole bhature of this place.

Jain Chawal Wala





It was year 2002 I was in Cannaught Place for some work. After finishing work I was on my way toward Shivaji Stadium to catch bus (That time Metro was not yet started on this route) then I notice crowd of people outside this shop. I asked myself a question why there is such a huge crowd of people, There must be something special. So out of Curiosity I thought of giving it a try. I tried Chhole bhature with a cup of tea. They served 2 Bhaturas with chhole and onion and Mango Carrot Pickle. The food was way too good. Chhole bhature were very tasty and specially chhole. I have tried chhole bhature of many places but chhole of this place are different. Since then I have become regular customer here.  I have tried almost all their food items Rajma Chawal, Kadhi Chawal, Samosa, Paneer Wala bread pakoda, And alloo Pyaz ka Prantha are my favouite. The shop remain open almost 24X7. But there is no sitting space just couple of table where you can stand and eat. Takeaway option is also avail or you can have in your car.

Our Delhi ........ Metro Walk, New Delhi

Metro Walk

Metro Walk is a Shopping Mall cum Amusement Park located in Rohini Area of North-West Delhi. The open air mall, a one of its kind in Delhi NCR is fast emerging as hot destination for people of all-age groups.  Nearest Metro station is Rithala on Red line of Delhi Metro. It is less than 1 km away from Rithala metro station. Buses from all over Delhi also come to this place. If you are coming by own car take turn from Madhuban Chowk on Ring Road depending upon your direction. If you are coming from Peeragarhi take left cut if from Bypass take right turn. This mall is next to famous Japanese Park of Rohini and another nearest landmark is Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital. This mall has sufficient parking area. If you have own vehicle then you have to enter from gate no 3. It is best to come by metro here as this mall is at walking distance from metro station. This mall has two sections shopping area plus amusement park that is called Adventure Island. Entry to mall is free but for Amusement park you have to pay. Let's talk more about Shopping Mall. Entry to mall is free. Mall has outlets of many international brands including Pantaloons, Reebok and Nike. There are many stand-alone restaurants as well as food kiosks. Some of famous restaurants are McDonald's,  Pind Baluchi, Pizza Hut. I have been to this place many times with family and I like atmosphere of this place. Boating facility is also available here. Like any other mall you have to go through security check and entry with food items is not allowed inside. This mall opens 7 days a week.


Last but not the least this place is worth going and you'll definitely enjoy.
