Ram Laddu 

Ram Laddu is a famous street food of Delhi. These laddus are salty and served with grated radish and green chutney. In Delhi, you will find these laddus being sold anywhere easily. There is a famous Ram Laddu shop in Lajpat Nagar Market. If you go there, do not forget to eat this famous Ram Laddu. You can easily make it at home also.

Ingredients:

Moong dal ................ 1 cup

Chana dal ............... 1/2 cup

Ginger ................. 1 inch piece

Green chili ............... 1-2 (optional)

Salt ................. As per taste

Turmeric ................. 1/4 tea spoon

Oil for frying

Method:

1. Wash and soak the chana and moong dal for 2-3 hours.

2. Grind the pulses with ginger and green chilies. If needed add very little  water. Do not grind the pulses too finely.

3. Take out the ground lentils in a vessel and beat them well for 10-15 minutes.

4. While whipping, keep in mind that the batter has to be rotated in the same direction,either clockwise or anti-clockwise, rotating batter in the opposite direction can release the  air that We have to incorporate.

5. After whisking, add salt and turmeric and beat for some more time.

6 Heat oil in a pan and keep flame medium.

7. And after this, wet the hands a little and lift a little bit of the batter with the fingers and put it in hot oil and fry till it turns golden brown .

8. Serve  with grated radish and green chutney.

राम लड्डू दिल्ली का प्रसिद्ध स्ट्रीट फ़ूड है | ये लड्डू नमकीन होते है और कद्दूकस की गई मूली और हरी चटनी के साथ सर्व किये जाते है | दिल्ली में आपको  ये लड्डू  जगह जगह पर बिकते मिल जायेंगे | लाजपत नगर मार्किट में एक राम लड्डू की मशहूर दुकान है |  अगर आप वहां जाये तो इस मशहूर राम लड्डू को  खाना न भूले | इसे आप घर पे भी आसानी  से बना  सकते  है | 

सामग्री :

मूंग दाल ................ 1 कप

चना दाल ............... 1/2 कप

अदरक  ................. 1 इंच टुकड़ा 

हरी मिर्च ............... 1-2 (optional)

नमक     ................. स्वादानुसार

हल्दी      ................ 1/2 चाय का चम्मच 

तेल       ................. तलने के लिए 

विधि: 

1. चने और मूंग की दाल को धोकर 2-3 घंटे के लिए भिगो दे |

2. दालों को अदरक और हरी मिर्च के साथ पीस ले .. अगर पानी डालने की जरुरत हो तो कम से कम 

    डाले और दालों को ज्यादा बारीक़ भी न पीसे | 

3. पिसी हुई दाल को किसी बर्तन में निकल ले और १०-१५ मिनट अच्छे से हाथ से  फैंट ले |  

4. फैंटते समय इस बात का ध्यान रखे की दाल को एक ही दिशा में घुमाना है क्लॉकवाइस या एंटी क्लॉकवाइस   विपरीत दिशा में घुमाने से अंदर की हवा निकल सकती है  |

5. फैंटने के बाद नमक और हल्दी मिला दे और कुछ देर और फैंट ले | 

6 कढ़ाई में तेल गरम कर ले |

7. और इसके बाद हाथो को थोड़ा गीला करले  और थोड़ा थोड़ा बैटर उंगलिओं से  उठा कर गर्म तेल में गोल आकार दे कर डाल दे  और  गोल्डन ब्राउन होने तक तल ले |

8. प्लेट में दाल कर कद्दूकस की गई मूली और हरी चटनी के साथ सर्व करे |

My Jaipur Trip Part -1

Historical city Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan state of India, which is about 280 kilometers away from India's capital Delhi. Jaipur is also known as Pink City. The city of Jaipur was founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II (Maharaja of Aamer). In the name of his name, the city named Jaipur. Jaipur has many tourist attractions in the city which draws tourists from all over India. We longed to go there for a long time but it's not easy to find time in a busy life nowadays. After all, we took the time out and made a program to roam Jaipur. There are many ways to go to Jaipur like rail, bus, taxi or airplane. Bus takes about 5-6 hours. We decided to go Jaipur by train. Many trains from Delhi go to Jaipur, Any ordinary train takes five to five and a half hours, on this route also runs a Shatabdi Train which takes about four and a half hours. Today is the time of internet, the train tickets and hotels are booked online. So finally, the day of departure for Jaipur came. Our train was to run from Sarai Rohilla station in Delhi and we reached the station at the right time, and our Train also started at the right time. We were very happy, we were waiting for a long time to go to Jaipur. It seemed as if any dream came true. Train took five hours to reach Jaipur and we reached Jaipur at around 9:30 pm. Our hotel, Hotel Shagun was very near to Railway station. The hotel was not very big but it was just fine for us. The hotel rooms were also neat and clean. The room was air conditioned and there was a arrangement for TV as well .

The hotel manager was a very good and helpful person. He arranged a car for us for sightseeing in Jaipur. The next morning we were ready to visit Jaipur and at the right time the car reached us and we got out to roam Jaipur. Where to go and how to go, we left all this to the driver. The Driver brought us to Laxmi Narayan temple first of all . 

Lakshmi Narayan temple is also known as Birla Mandir. This temple is also located in many other cities of India. Lakshmi Narayan Temple of Jaipur is made of white marble and is very gorgeous. This place which is situated at the height is very beautiful and charming, there is plenty of greenery around the temple. There are idols and images of many deities, which bring much reverence to the person. Mobile use and photo capture in the main chamber of the temple is forbidden. Coming here, the mind was very relaxed and We did not feel like going from here.

Our next destination was the Hawa Mahal. Hawa Mahal is situated near the famous Johri Bazar (Jeweler Market). It was built in 1798 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. It was mainly made for the ladies of the royal family so that they could enjoy the events and festivals on the road from within, because they were not allowed to go out. It was a very beautiful building. Hawa Mahal has been constructed from the red and pink sandstone. We spent some time here and even photographed.

After this we went to another famous tourist spot Jantar Mantar. Jantar Mantar, Jaipur is an astronomical observatory. There is a total of 5 Jantar Mantar in the country, besides Jaipur, Jantar Mantar is also in Delhi, Ujjain, Varanasi, and Mathura. In the whole country, There are 5 Jantar Mantar in total. Jantar Mantar of Jaipur is the largest in all of them. They were built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, who himself was also an astronomer. In Jantar Mantar, there are 19 different types of instruments, which show local time of day, prediction of eclipse and position of constellations. These instruments are still used for astrology and weather related activities and the information they get is accurate. The guides present there were giving information about these machines to the tourists and also talking about the methodology. The Emperor clock is the largest instrument, its height is about 90 feet, which gives information about time. Apart from the Indians, many foreign tourists also had come to visit Jantar Mantar. After staying in Jantar Mantar for some time we walked towards the city palace of our next destination which is located near Jantar Mantar.

मेरी जयपुर यात्रा  भाग - 1

ऐतिहासिक शहर जयपुर भारत के राज्य राजस्थान की राजधानी है जोकि भारत की राजधानी दिल्ली से तक़रीबन 280 किलोमीटर दूर है |  जयपुर को पिंक सिटी यानि की गुलाबी नगरी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है |  जयपुर शहर की स्थापना महाराजा जय सिंह द्वितीय (आमेर के महाराजा) ने की थी | उन्ही के नाम पर इस शहर का नाम जयपुर पड़ा | जयपुर शहर में बहुत से पर्यटन आकर्षण हैं जोकि पूरे भारत वर्ष से पर्यटकों को अपनी और खींचते है | हमारा भी काफी अरसे से जयपुर घूमने का मन था पर आजकल की व्यस्त ज़िन्दगी में समय निकालना कहाँ आसान है | आखिर हमने समय निकाल ही लिया और जयपुर घूमने का प्रोग्राम बना लिया | जयपुर जाने के कई साधन है जैसे रेल, बस, टैक्सी, या हवाई जहाज | बस तक़रीबन ५-६ घंटे लेती है | हमने जयपुर ट्रैन से जाने का फैसला किया | दिल्ली से कई ट्रेन्स जयपुर जाती है कोई आम गाड़ी पांच साढ़े पांच घंटे लेती है, इस रूट पर शताब्दी भी चलती है जो तक़रीबन साढ़े चार घंटे लेती है | आज कल इंटरनेट का जमाना है ट्रैन टिकट और होटल सब ऑनलाइन बुक हो जाता है | तो आखिर जयपुर के लिए निकलने का दिन आ गया | हमारी ट्रैन दिल्ली के सारे रोहिल्ला स्टेशन से चलनी थी और और हम सही समय पर स्टेशन पहुँच गए, और हमारी गाड़ी भी सही समय पर चल पड़ी | हम बहुत खुश थे आखिर हम जयपुर जाने का बहुत समय से इंतज़ार कर रहे थे | ऐसा लगता था मानो कोई सपना सच हो गया | ट्रैन ने जयपुर पहुँचने में पांच घंटे लिए और हम रात तक़रीबन ९:३० पर जयपुर पहुँच गए | हमारा होटल, होटल शगुन स्टेशन से पास ही था | होटल बहुत बड़ा तो नहीं पर हमारे हिसाब से ठीक था | होटल के कमरे भी साफ़ सुथरे थे | कमरा वातानुकूलित था और टीवी की  व्यवस्था भी थी |

होटल वाला बहुत अच्छा और हेल्पफुल व्यक्ति था | उसने हमारे जयपुर घूमने के लिए गाड़ी का इंतज़ाम भी कर दिया | अगली सुबह हम जयपुर भ्रमण के लिए तैयार थे और सही समय पर गाड़ी भी  पहुँच गयी  और हम जयपुर घूमने के लिए निकाल पड़े | कहाँ चलना है और कैसे जाना है इस सब को हमने गाड़ी वाले पर छोड़ दिया | गाड़ी वाला हमें सबसे पहले लक्ष्मी नारायण मंदिर ले आया |

लक्ष्मी नारायण मंदिर जिसे बिड़ला मंदिर के नाम से भी जाना जाता है | ये  मंदिर भारत के कई और शहरों में भी स्थित है | जयपुर का लक्ष्मी नारायण मंदिर  सफेद संगमरमर से बना है और बहुत भव्य है | यह स्थान जोकि ऊंचाई पर स्थित है बहुत ही सुन्दर और मनमोहक है , मंदिर के आसपास बहुत हरियाली है | यहां कई देवी देवताओं की मूर्तियां और चित्र हैं जो व्यक्ति में बहुत श्रद्धा भाव लाते है । मंदिर के मुख्या कक्ष में मोबाइल का प्रयोग और फोटो  खींचना  वर्जित  है  यहाँ आकर मन को बहुत सकून मिला और जाने का मन नहीं कर रहा था |

हमारी अगली मंज़िल थी हवा महल |  हवा महल प्रसिद्ध जौहरी बाजार के पास स्थित है.| इसे सन 1798 में महाराजा सवाई प्रताप सिंह ने हवा महल को बनवाया था | इसे मुख्य तौर पर शाही परिवार की औरतो के लिए बनाया गया था ताकि वे सड़क पर हो रहे त्योहारों और उत्सवों का आनंद भीतर से ही ले सके क्योकि उन्हें बाहर जाने की अनुमति नहीं थी। यह एक बेहद खूबसूरत बिल्डिंग थी | हवा महल का निर्माण लाल और गुलाबी बलुआ पत्थरो से किया गया है | हमने कुछ वक़्त यहाँ बिताया और फोटोज भी खिचवाये |

इसके बाद हम गए एक और प्रसिद्ध दर्शनीय स्थल जंतर मंतर | जंतर मंतर, जयपुर एक खगोलीय अवलोकन स्थल है | देशभर में कुल ५ जंतर मंतर है जयपुर के अलावा जंतर मंतर दिल्ली, उज्जैन, वाराणसी, और मथुरा में भी है  |  जयपुर का जंतर मंतर इन सब में विशालतम है | इनका निर्माण महाराजा सवाई जय सिंह द्वारा किया गया था जो स्वयं भी एक खगोलशास्त्री थे |  जंतर मंतर में विभिन्न प्रकार के 19 उपकरण हैं जो दिन का स्थानीय समय, ग्रहण की भविष्यवाणी और नक्षत्रों की स्थिति बताते हैं। इन यंत्रो का प्रयोग आज भी ज्योतिष और मौसम सम्बन्धी कार्यो के लिए किया जाता है और इनसे मिलने वाली जानकारी सटीक होती है | वहां मौजूद गाइड इन यंत्रो के बारे में जानकारी पर्यटकों को दे रहे थे और इनकी कार्य प्रणाली के बारें में भी बता रहे थे  | सम्राट घड़ी सबसे विशाल यन्त्र है इसकी ऊंचाई लगभग ९० फ़ीट है जो की समय के बारे में जानकारी देती है | भारतीयों के अलावा कई विदेशी पर्यटक  भी जंतर मंतर का भ्रमण करने आये थे | कुछ देर जंतर मंतर में रुकने के बाद हम अपनी अगली मंज़िल जयपुर की सिटी पैलेस की तरफ चल दिए जोकि जंतर मंतर के नज़दीक ही स्थित है |

This place has featured in Bollywood movies PK and Sultan.

History : This placed is named after a Muslim hermit Majnu who lived here during time of Sikander Lodhi. He owned a boat and used it for taking people across the river free of charge. He yearned for glimpse of God. He was so much lost in his thoughts that the people started calling him "Majnu",The persian lover who lived and died in Love similar to the story of the World renowned love story of Romeo and Juliet. This placed was visited by founder of Sikhism Guru Nanak dev ji. He blessed Majnu and Majnu attained enlightenment. Afterwards Majnu became a devout and avid believer and follower of  Guru Nanak Dev Ji.His hermitage on the bank of the Yamuna on a hillock, came to be known as Majnu-ka-Tilla (the hilllock of Majnu).This place was also visited by Sixth Guru Hargobind ji during reign of Emperor Jahangir.

Wow! A plate of yummy chhole bhature with a glass of lassi ... bliss for my taste buds. A small yet popular restaurant located in Punjabi Market, Mukherjee Park Near Tilak Nagar. Chhole bhature is popular and highest selling food item, Other items like Aloo wala Bread Pakoda, Paneer Wala bread pakoda and samose are also very popular but mostly people come to this shop for Chhole Bhature. Most of time place is crowded with people waiting for Choley Bhatury everyday. Sitting arrangement is not so sufficient so take away is better option and most people do so. Food is tasty and proportions are huge. Owner of the shop is very nice person and converse to people in very polite and friendly manner and if you have any kind of complaint then he listen attentively and takes necessary steps to correct it. Sagar has maintained the taste over the years. So if you are nearby then you must try chhole bhature of this place.

Jain Chawal Wala

It was year 2002 I was in Cannaught Place for some work. After finishing work I was on my way toward Shivaji Stadium to catch bus (That time Metro was not yet started on this route) then I notice crowd of people outside this shop. I asked myself a question why there is such a huge crowd of people, There must be something special. So out of Curiosity I thought of giving it a try. I tried Chhole bhature with a cup of tea. They served 2 Bhaturas with chhole and onion and Mango Carrot Pickle. The food was way too good. Chhole bhature were very tasty and specially chhole. I have tried chhole bhature of many places but chhole of this place are different. Since then I have become regular customer here.  I have tried almost all their food items Rajma Chawal, Kadhi Chawal, Samosa, Paneer Wala bread pakoda, And alloo Pyaz ka Prantha are my favouite. The shop remain open almost 24X7. But there is no sitting space just couple of table where you can stand and eat. Takeaway option is also avail or you can have in your car.

Metro Walk is a Shopping Mall cum Amusement Park located in Rohini Area of North-West Delhi. The open air mall, a one of its kind in Delhi NCR is fast emerging as hot destination for people of all-age groups.  Nearest Metro station is Rithala on Red line of Delhi Metro. It is less than 1 km away from Rithala metro station. Buses from all over Delhi also come to this place. If you are coming by own car take turn from Madhuban Chowk on Ring Road depending upon your direction. If you are coming from Peeragarhi take left cut if from Bypass take right turn. This mall is next to famous Japanese Park of Rohini and another nearest landmark is Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital. This mall has sufficient parking area. If you have own vehicle then you have to enter from gate no 3. It is best to come by metro here as this mall is at walking distance from metro station. This mall has two sections shopping area plus amusement park that is called Adventure Island. Entry to mall is free but for Amusement park you have to pay. Let's talk more about Shopping Mall. Entry to mall is free. Mall has outlets of many international brands including Pantaloons, Reebok and Nike. There are many stand-alone restaurants as well as food kiosks. Some of famous restaurants are McDonald's,  Pind Baluchi, Pizza Hut. I have been to this place many times with family and I like atmosphere of this place. Boating facility is also available here. Like any other mall you have to go through security check and entry with food items is not allowed inside. This mall opens 7 days a week.

Last but not the least this place is worth going and you'll definitely enjoy.

                     Gurudwara Bhabour Sahib or Vibhor Sahib

Gurudwara Shri Bhabour Sahib is located at Bank of Satluj River in Nangal, Dist Ropar (Punjab). This Gurudwara  is built in memory  of Tenth Master Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Guru Gobind Singh ji had come to this place on Invitation of Raja Rattan Rai.  Guru Ji stayed here for several months and meditated here. At this holy place Guru Maharaj Wrote Chaupai Sahib on bank of Satluj River. As mentioned in Chaupai Sahib.

Gurudwara is located on beautiful place on Satluj Bank just  4 km away from Nangal Bus Stand.  Shiromani Gurudwara Management Committee (SGPC) takes care of this place.  Gurudwara building is very beautiful and it’s in White color made with marble.There is diwan hall and Guru Granth Sahib ji is present there. I visited this place recently while I was staying at Chandigarh. One can easily get bus from Chandigarh Sector 43 Bus stand to reach here. From Nangal bus stand this place is approximately 4 km away I got auto from bus stand to reach here. It was rainy day and because of rain this place was looking more beautiful. It took 15 minutes to reach there. I stayed here for 30 minutes in lap of Guru maharaj and I felt like not going back from there. There were monkeys all around and on adjacent roads. Visitors are not allowed to serve food to monkeys. I didn’t get conveyance to go back to Nangal bus stand so I had to go on foot all the way, but I really enjoyed my walk and there is greenery all around of this place and smell of rain was refreshening.

Father, Son & Pigeon

A father and his 5 years old son was strolling together in the garden, The son sees a Pigeon and asked his father "Is this Pigeon, Father ?", "Yes" replied father. "Is this Pigeon Father" Son asked again "Yes my son" Father replied. The son asked several times and father replied yes every time. After many years both were strolling in same the garden together. Now the father was an old man and son was a young man. Suddenly father sees a Pigeon and asked his son "is this Pigeon Son " "yes", Son replied. The father asked agin "is this Pigeon Son" "yes Father" Son replied angerily. The father asked again "is this Pigeon Son" This time son burst out in anger and shouted " are gone blind father, can't you see this is a Pigeon Why are you asking me again and again". Father was stunned and couldn't utter a word and looking at his son and The pigeon.

View Larger Map Gurudwara Bangala Sahib is one of 10 historical Gurudwars of Delhi located near Gol Dak Khana near Cannaught Place. Great Sikh General Baba Baghel singh invaded Delhi in 1783 and Defeated Mughals and captured Red Fort then Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II made and agreement with him and emperor allowed Baba Baghel Singh to built Gurudwaras at historical places belonged to Gurus, Gurudwara Bangala Sahib was constructed at the same time by him .According to history there used to be a bunglow of Raja Jai Singh and Ruler of Amber and general of Mughal army of Aurangzeb. When Guru Harkishan ji 8th Guru of sikhism came to Delhi in 1664 on summon of Aurangzeb on persuasion of Raja Jai Singh and had stayed at this place. At that time a strange epidemic of Smallpox was raging in city and prople were suffering greatly because of this epidemic. Guru Har Krishan helped the suffering by giving Charna amrit, All those who took charnaamrit cured of disease. As the news spread more and more people started coming to this place. So a small tank was constructed  and Guru Sahib dipped his feet into this tank and all those took amrit from this tank cured of disease. Soon Guru Sahib too contracted the illness and eventually died on March 30, 1664. The water of tank  is still regarded as a pious element and to have healing properties. This water is consumed by the Sikhs of all over the world.

Gurudwara Bangala Sahib included :

Prakash asthan : At this place thousands of people of all religion, caste and creed bow their head to Guru Granth Sahib out of respect. Kirtan is performed here throughout the day by ragis . Guru Granth sahib has been placed here on raised platform (Manji Sahib) under a canopy (Palki) made of gold. Recently walls at prakash asthan have been covered with gold by DSGMC. This place also include Sukhasan Asthan where at night Guru granth sahib is put to sukhasan(rest). There is Golden domb at top which is visible from far off places.

Sarovar : At this place devotees take dip in holy water.

Langar hall (comunity kitchen) : Like all other Gurudwaras at this place people of all religion, caste and creed may eat. Food is prepared by volunteers.

Museum : There is museum named after Baba Baghel Singh, there are painting depicting sikh history.

Hospital : There is Guru Harkishan Sahib Charitable hospital.

Jora Ghar : Devotees keep their shoes at this place before entering Gurudwara. This is Service is volunteered by volunteers.

What to do Before Entering Gurudwara Bangala Sahib :

1. Remove your shoes and deposit it at jora ghar

2. Cover your head with cloth.

3. Wash your hand and feet.

4.  Do not take cigarettes or tobacco with you into the premises of Gurdwara.

5. Strictly No Smoking is allowed in the vicinity of the Gurdwara premises. Visitors cannot enter the Gurdwara while under the influence of Alcohol or Drugs

6. One should be dressed appropriately. It is recommended that all visitors to the Gurdwara wear loose fitting clothing which covers most of legs.

Hats off to Mr. Rahul Dravid The Great Wall of India, England may have won matches but Rahul Dravid won hearts of all Indian crickets fans. He is only one who is performing in England and holding tricolor high. Once again he has proved that he is best Indian batsman on foreign soil. He may not have strokes like Sehwag or Sachin but he is technically sound than any other Indian Batsman. This is reason that he always perform on foreign soil. He is never afraid of fast bowling and never through his wicket like other Indian batsmen. Although Indian Selectors mistreat him by labeling him as  Test batsman yet he is always ready to serve Team Indian, he is ready to accept any job given to him like he kept wicket for many years for team India. After retirement he should become batting coach for team India. Once again hats off to great son of soil.
